The largest design event of the Netherlands
From October 18 through October 26, 2008, Eindhoven will be the inspiring platform for the seventh large-scale annual Dutch Design Week. More than 40 large and smaller venues all over the city of Eindhoven will present a broad range of design disciplines.
Dutch Design Week presents established bureaus and high-profile designers alongside talented upcoming designers and recently graduated designers. All possible aspects of contemporary Dutch design will be revealed: from process to product, from industrial design to applied art.
Design works
The creative industry is getting more and more important. It is Dutch Design Week’s ambition to join this national development and to draw up a programme in which optimum attention is paid to the impact of creativity on society.
The public can visit exhibitions and fashion shows, attend lectures and seminars, and become acquainted with the latest products and developments in the field of design. If they like, they can also join workshops and symposiums for professional audiences.

The perfect meeting place
Last year Dutch Design Week (DDW) drew more than 55.000 visitors to Eindhoven. With around 130 different initiatives in more than 40 locations, DDW is growing steadily. Currently, the event represents 800 designers from design disciplines such as product design, textile and fashion design, graphic design, spatial design, design management and trends. DDW is geared to the public at large but also to designers, companies, and educational institutes. This makes the design event the perfect meeting place for people who want to gain and exchange new ideas.
Established and new coming designers
Due to the unique organisation structure of the Dutch Design Week, the participants’ commitment to the event and to one another is exceptionally intensive. Dutch Design Week came into being through bottom-up initiatives: by designers, for designers. This approach has resulted in an open ambiance centred on the quality of the integral event and on functional forms of cooperation. Both established designers and newcomers use the Dutch Design Week to show their work and introduce their ideas to the public.
